Why the same post looks different on every platform

Image ratios vary by platform

Instagram defaults to 3:4 portrait; Facebook and LinkedIn prefer 1.91:1 landscape; X shows 16:9; Instagram Stories fill a full 9:16. Upload one image and every platform crops it differently.

Captions get cut off at different lengths

X has a hard 280-character limit. Instagram shows 125 characters before a 'more' link. LinkedIn cuts at ~210; Facebook at ~477. PostDecks applies each platform's exact rules.

Multi-image posts look completely different

Instagram builds a carousel. Facebook and LinkedIn use orientation-aware collages. X uses fixed templates. The same set of images renders a different layout on each platform.

Your content never leaves your device

PostDecks is entirely client-side. When you upload an image, it is processed locally in your browser and never transmitted to a server. There is no account, no upload, and no storage. When you close the tab, the images are gone.

This matters for agencies working with unreleased campaign assets. Your client's images and copy stay on your machine throughout the preview and export process. Nothing is logged, retained, or accessible to anyone but you.
